What is LoonEh! and how is it different from other social media platforms?

LoonEh! is a privacy-focused, Canada-first social media platform designed to foster local engagement, independent news, and community-driven interactions. Unlike major corporate platforms, we do not sell your data to third parties, and all user data is stored securely in Canadian cloud servers with Web Hosting Canada. LoonEh! is available for all users worldwide and is not strictly for Canadian users, but does support Canadian sovereignty and privacy. Like in Canada, all are welcome.

Who can join LoonEh! and participate in the discussions?

Anyone 13 years or older can join LoonEh!. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent. We strictly prohibit users under 13 from creating accounts and will remove them if detected.

How does LoonEh! protect my privacy?

LoonEh! is committed to user privacy and operates under Canadian privacy laws like PIPEDA. We do not sell your data, track you across websites, or allow third-party advertisers to exploit your personal information. Your data is stored securely in Canada, and you can manage or delete your data at any time.

What types of content are not allowed on our platform?

LoonEh! is a safe and respectful community, and we strictly do not allow:

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or bullying
  • Harassment, threats, or impersonation
  • Violence, self-harm promotion, or exploitation
  • Pornographic, excessively graphic, or illegal content
  • Spam, scams, and fraudulent behavior
Does LoonEh! allow free speech?

Yes! LoonEh! supports free speech within the boundaries of Canadian law and our Fair and Free Use Policy. While we allow open discussions, speech that violates Canadian law (e.g., hate speech, defamation, or incitement to violence) is not tolerated.

How does LoonEh! handle user-generated content?

Users own their content on LoonEh!, but by posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display it within the Platform. We do not sell or claim ownership over your posts, and you can delete them at any time. However, we reserve the right to remove content that violates our policies.

Can I customize my privacy settings?

Yes! You have full control over your privacy settings from your account page, including:

  • Who can see your posts
  • Who can message you
  • Whether your profile appears in search results
  • Which notifications you receive
What happens if I violate LoonEh!’s rules?

If you violate our Terms of Use or Community Standards, the following may happen:

  • Warning: A notification about the violation
  • Content Removal: If the post breaks our rules
  • Temporary Suspension: Depending on the severity
  • Permanent Ban: If violations continue or are severe

Severe cases (e.g., criminal activity, hate speech, threats) may be reported to Canadian authorities .

Targeted abuse, bullying, or intimidation directed at an individual or group. This includes threats, stalking, intimidation, and repeated unwanted interactions.
The post promotes or facilitates illegal activities such as drug sales, hacking, human trafficking, or other criminal behavior.
Someone is pretending to be another person, brand, or organization in a misleading or deceptive manner.
Contains content that is explicit, mature, graphic, or otherwise unsuitable for the platform. This may include nudity, extreme violence, or disturbing material.
Spreads false or misleading information that could cause harm, confusion, or public distrust. This includes manipulated content, conspiracy theories, or medical/scientific falsehoods.
Contains hate speech, discriminatory language, or derogatory remarks targeting individuals or communities based on race, gender, religion, disability, or other protected attributes.
Includes spam, scams, phishing attempts, malware, or other deceptive practices designed to mislead users, steal information, or exploit vulnerabilities.
A post contains violent threats, incitement of violence, or glorification of harm against individuals, groups, or communities.
