LoonEh! (“we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy, and we want to disclose how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our social media platform, located at [looneh.net and/or looneh.ca] (the “Platform”, “Site”). We encourage you to read the policy in its entirety, as it applies to all registered users, visitors, and other individuals who access or interact with our services.

We use this policy to explain your rights with your personal information and our consented use by the acceptance of said policy. We also want you to understand how you can control your personal information and privacy. By using LoonEh! and its services, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, you can safely refrain from using our services.

What Information We Collect 

Information You Provide

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:

  • Create an account (e.g., name, email address, username, password, profile picture)
  • Create content on the platform, such as posts, videos, images, etc.
  • Engage with content in forums, posts, timelines, videos, etc. 
  • Contact us for support or inquiries on email, online, or social media
  • Messages are sent and received, including their content, subject to applicable law
  • Participate in surveys, promotions, or contests
  • Configure your account settings, including privacy settings

Automatically Collected Information

We collect certain data automatically when you use LoonEh! for it to function, including:

  • Device and Connection Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, screen size and resolution, cookies, etc.
  • Usage Information: Pages visited, time spent on the platform, interactions, connections, settings, and preferences
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to analyze trends and improve user experience

How We Use Your Information

We strictly collect user data that is provided to us through the consent of users engaging with our platform. The purposes of collecting information depend on the information collected and how the user is engaging with the platform. For some purposes, we use information across multiple devices or apps so you can experience LoonEh! free of interruptions. Nearly all information is automatically processed and not personally stored or reviewed unless required under the consent of this policy agreement.

To Provide and Personalize The Service 

At the fundamental level, we use your information and personal data to provide the service LoonEh! and improve its functionality and products. Your use of the Site stores user information that allows you to see recommendations geared towards you to enhance your experience and promote the connections made on LoonEh!. You can have control over what you see by controlling who you connect and engage with. 

To Promote Safety and Security 

We store information on our servers to ensure your account is consistent and displays the information and files you want. You can edit this information at any time, but we have the right to investigate suspicious use and activity on the Platform to protect its users and our brand. We may also protect the identity of others by deactivating accounts that impersonate others. All unlawful, fraudulent, and harmful behavior will be combatted and removed from the Site and not be tolerated; users can expect account deletion and the contacting of authorities. Platform use is monitored to detect and prevent spam and unsolicited behavior. Lastly, and all encompassing, we use user data to find and address violations to our policies and agreements. 

To Communicate With Users

The information you provide allows us to communicate with you in different ways. If authorized, we can send messages and emails about the Platform, using the details in your account. If you decide to participate in surveys or research, we may contact you as needed. When you contact us, we will respond as able using the appropriate service or third-party as necessary to communicate with you. Depending on your personal settings, we may send your marketing or advertising campaigns and communications, which you can stop at any time.

How We Share Your Information 

In order for the Platform to operate and offer the entirety of its services for all users, third-party integrations, providers, and services are used. However, LoonEh! does not and will not sell your personal information to any service or entity at any time. 

Information is shared strictly on an as needed basis for:

Service Providers who use it to host LoonEh!, including databases, web servers, security services, domain authorities, third-party plugins and more. This data is only stored and used by these providers so they can offer services that allow our Platform to operate securely and safely.

Authorities who may request it by law which LoonEh! must and will comply with at all times. We may disclose personal information when required by subpoena, warrant, court order, or government request. If legally permissible, we will notify the affected user before disclosing their data. In emergency situations where imminent harm is suspected, we may provide necessary data without prior notice.

Marketing Providers who may require consent to user information, based on their personal settings, in order to provide them with ads that are Canadian and/or appropriate for them. 

Data Storage and Security 

In order to maintain our Canada first vision, your data is securely stored in Canadian cloud servers. Unlike current platforms, LoonEh! manages user data strictly within Canada and stores it within Canadian databases. We further comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Any data shared with third-parties as described above may be stored outside of Canada for them to perform operations, where such data will remain safe. However, no current system is invincible, and, thus, we cannot guarantee perfect security of our databases, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to and/or from us over the internet or Platform.

How to Manage Your Information and Rights 

You have the right to your information and privacy, including the ability to authorize entities like LoonEh! on how it is used. By using our Site and services, you consent to the use of your information within the bounds of this policy. We offer a variety of ways in which you can manage, delete, or change your information and settings at any time. If you have concerns about the security of your data once your account is deactivated, contact us for a personal review. Your rights may also be extended beyond this policy as governed by local law. Users can disable cookies through their browser settings, but this may impact their experience on the Platform. Additionally, some tracking (such as essential cookies for security) cannot be disabled.

For users located in the European Union (EU) or the United Kingdom (UK), additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may apply, including the right to data portability and the right to request deletion (“right to be forgotten”). Deleting Your Account

If at any time you are unsatisfied with LoonEh, we encourage you to reach out to us or report a bug so we can improve. If you would still like to leave LoonEh, you can do so by clicking on the “Account” button in your profile drop down or “More” section of the mobile App and proceeding to “Delete Account”, or clicking here. If you wish to receive an export of all your data from LoonEh, you can also do so from the your account settings before you delete profile. Please note the storage details below.

How Long is Your Data Stored?

Personal data is stored on our servers as long as it is necessary to provide our services. Generally, we retain basic account data while the account is active and delete or anonymize it within 12 months after account deletion, unless retention is required for legal, security, or regulatory compliance. Metadata such as logs and device information may be retained for a longer duration for security auditing and investigations.

Children’s Privacy

LoonEh! is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will take appropriate steps to remove their information. We are not responsible for individual account creation and advise parents and guardians to monitor their underage child’s online use. Parents should not allow children under the age to use our site, and knowledge of such goes against our policies, which could be subject to account deletion and/or suspension. LoonEh! does not assume responsibility for how individuals engage online, but our team ensures strict safety and moderation to provide a safe service. 

Changes to This Policy

Any and all changes will be communicated with users readily through email, Site notifications, or other agreed to methods. We may update this policy at any time to ensure it reflects our brand and goal to provide a secure and safe platform for Canadians and our friends. We do, however, encourage you to periodically review the policy for the latest details and information.
