Terms of Service Policy

Introduction

Welcome to LoonEh! (“we,” “our,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access and use of LoonEh! and its associated services, including our website [looneh.net] (the “Platform”, “Site”). By using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue your use of the Platform immediately. We are not responsible for your misuse of our services or Platform. 

Eligibility

LoonEh! is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will take appropriate steps to remove their information. We are not responsible for individual account creation and advise parents and guardians to monitor their child’s online use. Parents should not allow children under the age to use our site, and knowledge of such goes against our policies, which could be subject to action. 

User Conduct

All users on LoonEh! agree to use the Platform to connect with others, express themselves, engage safely with the community, and support Canadians. Users agree they will not:

  • Engage in harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or other protected attributes
  • Post, share, or distribute pornographic, violent, graphic, or inappropriate content
  • Engage in spamming, scamming, or fraudulent activities
  • Impersonate others, including individuals, brands, or organizations
  • Use the Platform to promote or facilitate illegal activities, including but not limited to hacking, drug trafficking, and exploitation
  • Violate intellectual property rights, including unauthorized use of copyrighted material
  • Circumvent security measures, attempt to disrupt our Platform, or interfere with the experience of other users

Banned content on the Platform includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Doxxing, impersonation, identity theft, fraud, and other unlawful behavior 
  • Promotion of self harm, suicide, and harming of others or living things
  • Misleading altered content that may harm individuals or entities, such as deepfakes 
  • Pornographic, violent, graphic, nonconsensual, and destructive content
  • Promoting, planning, or organizing illegal activities 

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension, deletion, and/or reporting to law enforcement.

User Responsibilities

To ensure a safe and functional experience on LoonEh!, users agree to the following responsibilities:

  • Keeping Account Information Updated: Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account and update it as necessary to reflect any changes
  • Account Security: Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials, including passwords and security settings. Any unauthorized access to an account must be reported immediately to LoonEh!
  • Prohibited Account Sharing & Unauthorized Access: Sharing login credentials, allowing others to access your account, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts is strictly prohibited. Such actions may result in account suspension or termination
  • Content & Interaction Responsibility: Users are accountable for the content they post and their interactions on the Platform. Engaging in harmful, illegal, or misleading activities will result in enforcement action by LoonEh!

Messaging Policy

LoonEh! encourages open and meaningful conversations while maintaining a safe, respectful, and lawful communication space for all users. To ensure this, users must adhere to the following guidelines when sending messages on the platform:

Appropriate Use of Messaging

  • Messages should be used for constructive conversations, networking, social engagement, and business interactions
  • Discussions should remain respectful, inclusive, and free from harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language
  • Users must not use messaging to spam, scam, or engage in deceptive or fraudulent behavior
  • Any form of harassment, threats, bullying, or intimidation through direct messages is strictly prohibited
  • Users must not share false, misleading, or manipulative content intended to deceive others

By extension, all users abide by and agree to the attached and full messaging policy .

Fair and Free Use

Unique to LoonEh!, our Fair and Free Use Policy allows all eligible users to speak openly and free from corporate or tech-giant influence, within the appropriate conduct of the Terms. As an independent Canadian platform, we support all voices and freedom of speech, reflective of a cherished right in our country. All users have the right to express ideas, beliefs, opinions, to create groups, to have private discussions free from surveillance, to share information, and to engage with others.

Freedom of Speech Blog and Content Posting

LoonEh! supports free expression and encourages users to engage in open and meaningful discussions through blog posts and shared content. While we permit uncensored blog posting such that you can post your rightful opinion, knowledge, ideas, and more, all content must align with our community standards and conduct policies to maintain a respectful and safe platform for all users. This means that posts should not contain pornographic material, excessive violence, threats, harassment, bullying, misinformation, or illegal activity. Users are expected to contribute constructively, respecting diverse perspectives while avoiding content that promotes harm, discrimination, or false/misleading information intended to deceive. Any content that violates these guidelines may be subject to moderation, removal, or account action in accordance with our policies. LoonEh! remains committed to protecting free speech while fostering a responsible and secure digital space for all users.

Content Ownership and Licensure 

You retain the ownership of your individual shared content on LoonEh!, such as texts, images, videos, posts, and other material uploaded to the Site. By posting such content, your grant LoonEh! a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and display the content in connection with the Platform. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate laws, intellectual property rights, trademarks, etc. We are not responsible for what users post and the unlawful use of content on our Platform, but we will take action to remove such content whenever identified. We, thus, deserve the right to delete any content that violates these terms. 

Likewise, we retain the ownership of any and all intellectual property, trademark, copyright, and sever information. By using our service, you agree to not damage, disrupt, steal, misuse, or abuse our systems. You also agree to never sell our information or that of our users to any other entity, third-party, agency, or state. Further, specifically referring to Beta Loons, you agree to not share any information about the website without verification by our team, including but not limited to updates, future features, upcoming events, private business information, member information, and other intellectual property of LoonEh!

Privacy and Security  

We strongly advise users to not share vital or sensitive information on LoonEh!, including with other users privately or publicly on the Platform and to exercise caution if doing so. We take reasonable security measures to protect your data, as expressed in our privacy policy , but we cannot guarantee an impenetrable system. Like with all your accounts, we suggest using a strong and complex password, which you can change at your discretion whenever needed. Never share your password with other users. Requesting such information from others is a violation.

Compliance with Canadian Law

By using LoonEh!, you agree to abide by all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial laws and regulations. Users are prohibited from engaging in activities that violate Canadian legal standards, including but not limited to:

  • Hate speech and discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act
  • Defamation under Canadian civil law
  • Copyright and intellectual property infringement under the Copyright Act
  • Fraud, identity theft, and other criminal activities under the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Unsolicited communications and spam under the Canada Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
  • Privacy violations under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

Failure to comply with Canadian law may result in the suspension or termination of your account, legal action, or reporting to law enforcement agencies as required.

Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience any violations of these Terms, including harassment or misconduct, please report the issue using our in-platform reporting tools or by contacting us at loon.eh.ca@gmail.com. You can get involved in securing LoonEh! by reporting content or users that you believe go against our policies and our team will review them as soon as possible. When a report is filed, we may or may not contact you for or with further details. 

Account Termination and Suspension 

We reserve the right at any time to suspend or terminate accounts for any reason, especially when users violate the Terms or perform other harmful actions, such as:

  • Engaging in criminal activities or dangerous behavior
  • Threatening or endangering other users
  • Repeatedly violating our community guidelines
  • Attempting to manipulate, hack, or compromise the Platform

Suspended users may appeal their ban by contacting loon.eh.ca@gmail.com, but reinstatement is not guaranteed. Personal data is stored on our servers as long as it is necessary to provide our services. Generally, we retain account data while the account is active and delete or anonymize it within 12 months after account deletion, unless retention is required for legal, security, or regulatory compliance. Messages and posts may be stored for up to 24 months unless manually deleted by the user. Metadata such as logs and device information may be retained for a longer duration for security auditing and investigations.

Third-Party Links & Services

LoonEh! may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for third-party content, including that which is shared by users publicly or privately. Your interactions with such third parties and how you share their information is governed by their respective policies.

Amendments & Updates

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via email, platform notifications, or other appropriate means. Continued use of LoonEh! after updates constitutes agreement to the revised Terms.

Report

Targeted abuse, bullying, or intimidation directed at an individual or group. This includes threats, stalking, intimidation, and repeated unwanted interactions.
The post promotes or facilitates illegal activities such as drug sales, hacking, human trafficking, or other criminal behavior.
Someone is pretending to be another person, brand, or organization in a misleading or deceptive manner.
Contains content that is explicit, mature, graphic, or otherwise unsuitable for the platform. This may include nudity, extreme violence, or disturbing material.
Spreads false or misleading information that could cause harm, confusion, or public distrust. This includes manipulated content, conspiracy theories, or medical/scientific falsehoods.
Contains hate speech, discriminatory language, or derogatory remarks targeting individuals or communities based on race, gender, religion, disability, or other protected attributes.
Includes spam, scams, phishing attempts, malware, or other deceptive practices designed to mislead users, steal information, or exploit vulnerabilities.
A post contains violent threats, incitement of violence, or glorification of harm against individuals, groups, or communities.
