Moderation & Reporting

At Looneh!, we believe in fostering a safe, engaging, and respectful environment where users can express themselves freely while maintaining the integrity of our community. To achieve this, we implement active moderation, user reporting, and community guidelines to ensure a healthy and inclusive space for all members.

Moderation is essential to prevent harassment, misinformation, illegal, and inappropriate content while maintaining a fair and transparent social media experience.

How LoonEh! is Moderated

Automated and AI Moderation Technology

To keep our platform free from potentially harmful, hateful, or inappropriate content, we moderate material automatically in the following ways:

  • When users make posts, comments, discussions, groups, usernames, titles, and all other non-messaging content, our system automatically scans it using our profanity, spam, and harm filters
  • When users share images or videos that may go against our terms, our system may automatically suspend or flag your account for review
  • Profanity may be automatically flagged and blocked or overwritten by our systems in order to provide a safe and respectful environment for all our users
Human or Manual Moderation

Our moderation team actively reviews flagged content, reports, and suspicious behavior. This includes and is not limited to reviewing posts, comments, activity feeds, group discussions, forums, groups, pages, and all reported content on the platform by other users. Moderators do not read private messages unless they are reported for violations.

Community Moderation

LoonEh! encourages our users to participate in keeping our platform and community safe and free from harmful language and use in the following ways:

  • Reporting harassment, illegal, impersonating, inappropriate, misinformed, offensive, suspicious, violent, and other forms of harmful use of our platform by clicking on the right three dots of any piece of activity content and selecting the report function
  • Flagging spam and advertisers that abuse our systems either in the activity feed, group, forums, discussions, or private messaging systems
  • Maintaining transparency and reporting private messages that may contain illegal, violent, harmful, or potential misuse of LoonEh! for moderators to review

LoonEh! does not penalize those who report or attempt to keep our community safe.

What Content is Moderated and Why?

Harmful or Illegal Content

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or targeted harassment (e.g., racial slurs, sexist comments, threats)
  • Misinformation or misleading content (e.g., false health claims, election interference)
  • Illegal activities , such as fraud, drug trafficking, or exploitation
  • Violence, incitement, or threats towards individuals or groups

Inappropriate or Explicit Content

  • Sexually explicit, pornographic, or non-consensual material
  • Gore, graphic violence, or disturbing imagery
  • Content that endangers minors or promotes harm

Spam, Scams, and Fake Accounts

  • Bots, fake profiles, and mass account creation
  • Scams, phishing links, or fraudulent offers
  • Excessive promotional content or irrelevant spam

How You Can Help Keep LoonEh! Safe

LoonEh! thrives when users actively contribute to a positive community . Here’s a more descriptive breakdown on how you can help:

1. Report Misconduct

  • Harassment (targeted abuse, bullying, or intimidation directed at an individual or group. This includes threats, stalking, intimidation, and repeated unwanted interactions)
  • Illegal Activity (the post promotes or facilitates illegal activities such as drug sales, hacking, human trafficking, or other criminal behavior)
  • Impersonation (someone is pretending to be another person, brand, or organization in a misleading or deceptive manner)
  • Inappropriate (contains content that is explicit, mature, graphic, or otherwise unsuitable for the platform. This may include nudity, extreme violence, or disturbing material)
  • Misinformation (spreads false or misleading information that could cause harm, confusion, or public distrust. This includes manipulated content, conspiracy theories, or medical/scientific falsehoods. to manipulate others)
  • Offensive (contains hate speech, discriminatory language, or derogatory remarks targeting individuals or communities based on race, gender, religion, disability, or other protected attributes) 
  • Suspicious (includes spam, scams, phishing attempts, malware, or other deceptive practices designed to mislead users, steal information, or exploit vulnerabilities)
  • Violence (a post contains violent threats, incitement of violence, or glorification of harm against individuals, groups, or communities)

2. Blocking or Unfollowing Users

If you encounter annoying, inappropriate, or mistrustful users, you can unfollow them to stop seeing their content, disconnect from them to stop being their friend, or block them entirely so they can no longer see your content, timeline, profile, or message you. You can edit your list of blocked users here.

3. Follow Community Guidelines

Being part of Looneh means respecting others. Engage respectfully, avoid spam, and report issues when necessary. Simply put, our community thrives when we support each other.

Appealing a Moderation Decision

If you believe your content was wrongly removed or your account was suspended unfairly, you can appeal:

  • For content removals , submit an appeal through your account settings
  • For account suspensions or bans , email loon.eh.ca@gmail.com with your case details

We review appeals case-by-case and will restore content/accounts if the action was taken in error

Report
