      When You Were Here

      I long for the days I could feel your touch,
      Your warmth beside me, it meant so much.
      Take me back to the sound of your voice,
      Your thoughts, your heart, your quiet choice.

      You sang of dreams you held so tight,
      They lit my soul, they felt so right.
      Now tears fall for the life we missed,
      A love once lived in every kiss.

      To all who’ve lost, I share your pain.
      The ache that words can’t quite explain.
      We miss them most, it’s always clear,
      When we reach to them with words, but they are not near.
